LATERAL PRESSURE ASSEMBLY 10KG / cm² AZA0908
The AZA0908 Lateral Pressure Assembly (10 kg/cm²) from Azalab is a critical geotechnical laboratory accessory designed to apply and maintain uniform lateral (confining) pressure on soil specimens during triaxial shear and related tests. By accurately simulating in-situ stress conditions, this assembly ensures reliable determination of soil shear strength, deformation characteristics, and effective stress parameters.
The unit is primarily used with standard triaxial cells for UU, CU, and CD triaxial compression tests, making it indispensable for foundation design, slope stability analysis, and advanced soil research
Description
Principle of Operation
The AZA0908 operates by transmitting controlled air pressure to water inside a sealed pressure chamber. This water applies uniform lateral pressure around the triaxial cell, which in turn confines the soil specimen enclosed in a rubber membrane. A calibrated pressure gauge allows continuous monitoring and adjustment of the applied pressure throughout the test.
The system is designed for routine laboratory testing where stable confining pressure up to 10 kg/cm² (≈1000 kPa) is required.

LINEAR SHRINKAGE MOULD AZA0850
The AZA0850 Precision Linear Shrinkage Mould from AZALAB is a compact and highly accurate laboratory instrument designed for determining the linear shrinkage of fine-grained cohesive soils in accordance with BS 1377-2. This test is a key component of soil classification and is especially important in identifying shrink–swell behavior of clays and expansive soils.
Linear shrinkage testing measures the reduction in length of a soil specimen upon drying, expressed as a percentage of its original length. The results provide valuable insight into soil expansiveness, volume stability, and suitability for foundations, pavements, and earthworks.
Manufactured from high-quality brass or stainless steel, the AZA0850 mould offers precise internal dimensions, excellent corrosion resistance, and a smooth polished finish for easy sample preparation and removal. Its robust construction ensures repeatable, reliable results even under high-frequency laboratory use.

Principle of Operation
A soil paste prepared at a known moisture content is placed in the sample cup. The stainless steel cone, of specified mass and angle, is allowed to penetrate the soil freely for 5 seconds. The depth of penetration (up to 20 mm) is measured using a precision depth gauge. The moisture content corresponding to 20 mm penetration is defined as the liquid limit of the soil.Standards Compliance

STANDARD COMPACTION TEST AZA0863
STANDARD COMPACTION TEST AZA0864
The AZA0864 Standard Compaction Test Apparatus from Azalab is precision-engineered to perform the British Standard Proctor (Light Compaction) Test, as specified in BS 1377-4 and BS 1924-2. This apparatus is used to determine the Maximum Dry Density (MDD) and Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) of soils subjected to light compactive effort.
The test simulates field compaction achieved by light rollers and rammers and is essential for quality control of subgrades, embankments, road bases, and foundation soils. The AZA0864 is widely used in geotechnical laboratories, site investigation works, and academic institutions following British Standards.
