Timken Load Tester AZA1330A
The AZA1330A Timken Load Tester is one of the most widely recognized and reliable instruments used for evaluating the load-carrying capacity and extreme-pressure (EP) characteristics of lubricants and greases.
This tester accurately determines the ability of lubricating oils and greases containing extreme-pressure additives to withstand increasing loads without failure or seizure.
It is designed in accordance with the following international standards:
-
ASTM D2509-93 – Standard Test Method for Measurement of Load-Carrying Capacity of Lubricating Grease (Timken Method)
-
ASTM D2782-94 – Standard Test Method for Measurement of Extreme-Pressure Properties of Lubricating Fluids (Timken Method)
The AZA1330A provides highly stable operation, precise measurement, and user-friendly functionality, making it an ideal choice for laboratories, R&D centers, and lubricant manufacturers.
Description
Working Principle
The instrument functions on the principle of a rotating steel test ring that is in contact with a stationary steel test block under controlled loading conditions.
Lubricant is applied to the contact area, and as the load is gradually increased, the point at which the lubricant film fails and metal-to-metal contact occurs is observed. This allows precise determination of the lubricant’s extreme-pressure resistance and wear protection performance.
Working Conditions
- Operates effectively at room temperature within 10°C–35°C, with relative humidity ≤ 80%.
- Should be installed in an environment free from vibration, corrosive gases, and strong magnetic interference.
- Power supply fluctuations should not exceed ±10% of the rated voltage.
- Must be installed horizontally on a stable and solid foundation for accurate results.
